"Excellent stay. Gracious and responsive host. Our large group of 14 (7 couples) had a great time. Beautiful historic property, modern bathrooms and amenities. Kitchen equipment well stocked for our large group meals. The pool was large with very warm water. Very large jacuzzi as well. We also found in one room an assembled large table for our group meals which was great so we could enjoy our friends at dinner as a group. The table could easily have sat 16. One night we BBQ’d and it was clean and large. All of us agreed it was an enjoyable property. Come here."

"Our group had a wonderful stay! From booking, Joseph was an incredible host—responsive, thoughtful, and helpful, making us feel at home. We were welcomed with croissants and cupcakes, a lovely touch that set the tone. The house exceeded expectations—much larger than photos, spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. As a large group, it was perfect: plenty of space, enough beds, and bathrooms for everyone made everything easy. We never felt crowded and enjoyed great shared spaces while still having room to spread out. The pool was spectacular- even larger than it looks. We also had dinner at one of the many outdoor tables on the side of the house- so lovely. Every person in our group said how perfect the home was. We’d absolutely stay again and highly recommend it. Thank you, Joseph, for an unforgettable Sonoma weekend!"

"We have stayed in a lot of impressive homes, but this was an unbelievable stay. We were looking for somewhere to serve as a homebase for a friend’s 40th birthday wknd, and the Hope Merrill house was just perfect. If you think the reviews are too good to be true, I assure you they’re not. Joseph was the most gracious and accommodating host- very responsive with suggestions for local chefs, (book Chef Adair!). He was so generous about flexibility to have a few other people on the property during the day so that we could have family celebrations. And prompt for answering all Qs. All wknd everyone was talking about how beautiful and unique the house was, with so much Victorian charm but also with (needed) AC, modern bathrooms, a stocked kitchen of our dreams! The property is so expansive you never feel cramped, with infinite space to unwind, in the large bedrooms, by the pool or at any of the dining spaces. Pool house! gym! Fire pit! gazebo! it just goes on. Truly, this home is a fairytale"
